Will: you are welcome.
As you can see here

http://perassi.org/2008/08/21/calf-point/

I’ve turned, as an exercise, the Moo-Point WordPress theme to a child theme of Sandbox.

Thanks carlok! I didn't realize you were referring to closing the link (

). The validator that you linked to caught it. I have fixed in on my demo site and it will be fixed in the next version of Moo-Point.

0.8.5.2 on (K)Ubuntu and "serial" as validator parser (that means two validator in series).
It could be a bit pedantic, though.

carlok - That's odd. Which validator are you using in Firefox? The site validates using the w3 validator.

Sorry, wrong typing
I mean this line

$menu .= get_option('home') . '/" title="Home">Home
';

I'm not able to encode it correctly inside bbpress but you got what I mean :)

Will: the firefox validator pointed me a missing closing

tag after "Home" and before the closing li.

So the line should be

$menu .= get_option('home') . '/" title="Home">Home';

Carlok - I will have to look into the child theme issue later...

Where are you seeing a missed tag? This is what I have in that function.

function sandbox_globalnav() {
    $menu = '

';
    if ( is_home() ) {
        $menu .= '
<a href="';
    }
    else {
         $menu .= '
Home
';
    $menu .= str_replace( array( "\r", "\n", "\t" ), '', wp_list_pages('title_li=&sort_column=menu_order&echo=0&exclude=51,60,64') );
    $menu .= "

\n";
    echo $menu;
}

Will: I've tried (some minutes) to turn it to a child theme without success (functions.php and style.css are fine but a theme isn't valid without a index.php so... I miss something).

By the way: trying to do it I found a small issue... in your sandbox_globalnav() inside functions.php you didn't close the anchor on line 12.

Will: that would be a very smart and maintainable solution.
Let us know. :)

carlok - I can only hope to keep Moo-Point up to date with the latest version of Sandbox. I'm not sure when I will be able to release the next version. I will more than likely go the route of converting Moo-Point to a child theme of Sandbox. That appears to be the easiest way to keep up with the releases of Sandbox.

Will: is a new release of Moo-Point on schedule (to fit Sandbox 1.6)? Or, even better, a way (a how-ot or alike) to always turn the upstream version of Sandbox to the upstream version of Moo-Point? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply iamww. I am a newbie with WordPress and after you mention about the widgets, I went into to fiddle with it and everything is fine now including the footer.

So sorry. Thanks for the wonderful theme!

yktan - I am not exactly sure what you mean. There shouldn't be any capability issues if you are using Moo-Point 1.75.

Did you replace the Moo-Point 1.75 core theme files with those in Sandbox 1.6 and replace the
style.css
with the one from Moo-Point 1.75? If so, that could cause some issues because there are changes in Moo-Point that would not be in Sandbox.

For your two issues, can you provide more details? Where are you looking for there to be post counts for categories and archives? If you are referring to the sidebars, are you using widgets within the WordPress admin? What doesn't display properly in the footer? What browser on which operating system are you seeing an issue?

Hi, I have just installed Moo-Point 1.75 on my site that is running WordPress 2.6 and Sandbox 1.6 (http://www.snoozingdragon.com).

I noticed 2 abnomalies:
(1) Post count do no appear for Categories section or Archives section.
(2) Footer doesn't seem to display properly.

So, just wanted to ask if this is a compactibility issue or some settings that I didn't do correctly?

Thanks for the great theme!
